Pro tip – turn on live-view when taking pictures of things with the sun behind them, instead of looking through the viewfinder. This was probably the best of about five attempts at similar shots; a sixth and my eyeball would have exploded. What the fuck was I thinking.
My attempts at photography seemed to get progressively worse as the whiskey-level in the bottle dropped – I’m going to attribute this to too much light getting through the top of the bottle from the candle sitting behind it. The whiskey-level you see here seems to be optimal for photography, as a completely full bottle seemed to offer too little inspiration.
